Well, pack your bags and get ready for another bizarre, foul-mouthed road trip across the galaxy. During today’s explosive Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025, Squanch Games dropped the bomb we were all hoping for: High on Life 2 is real, and it’s blasting its way onto our screens in Winter 2025.
The original High on Life was a wild ride, turning us from a couch-surfing slacker into an intergalactic bounty hunter armed with a chatty, living arsenal. It was a massive hit on Game Pass, and its 2025 port to the Nintendo Switch brought the chaos to a whole new audience. Now, it looks like the story is far from over.
What’s New in High on Life 2?
The reveal trailer gave us a juicy, albeit brief, glimpse into what’s next. Set to the thumping beat of Tobacco’s “Constellation Dirtbike Head,” we saw the protagonist pulling off some slick moves, skateboarding through what looks like a futuristic high-rise. It’s not just for show, either—the gameplay seamlessly blended grinding on rails with blasting away at robotic enemies. It’s a definite step up in mobility and style.
But let’s be real, we’re here for the guns. And oh boy, did Squanch deliver. While our trusty talking alien gun is back, the trailer also teased some seriously weird new additions to the armory, including:
- A flame-spewing lizard that you literally hold like a flamethrower.
- A pair of reality-bending pistols that look like they’ll open up some insane combat possibilities.
If the first game was any indication, these new ‘friends’ are likely to come with their own unique, and probably unhinged, personalities.
The Story Continues This Winter
While the trailer was all action, the premise is clear: the adventure continues. The original game saw us taking down an alien cartel that wanted to turn humanity into drugs. With High on Life 2, the stakes are bound to be higher, the jokes more outrageous, and the guns even chattier.

The sequel is officially slated for release on Windows PC and Xbox Series X. No word yet on a Game Pass day-one release, but given the original’s success on the service, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
Where Can You Play the Original?
Haven’t jumped into the madness yet? You’ve got time to catch up before High on Life 2 drops. The original High On Life is currently available on a ton of platforms, including:
- Windows PC
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox One and Xbox Series X (Playable via Game Pass)
- Nintendo Switch (as of its 2025 port)
Get ready, bounty hunters. Things are about to get weird again this winter. We’ll keep our ears to the ground for more info as it drops.
