The next generation of Nintendo is almost here — and yes, it is time to talk Nintendo Switch 2 launch games.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 arriving Thursday, June 5, 2025, anticipation is peaking not just for the hardware, but for what you will actually play on day one, whether you are in it for first-party icons or looking to see how third-party titles will perform on Nintendo’s upgraded system. Nintendo has confirmed enhanced versions of several blockbuster titles and additional third-party support, expanding the lineup beyond early expectations.

All Launch Titles for the Nintendo Switch 2
First-Party Nintendo Switch 2 Titles:


Nintendo is playing it smart, balancing familiarity with fresh entries. To begin with, this introductory section will enumerate the new first-party Switch 2 games that will be available on the day of launch, which include the three GameCube classics that are being incorporated into Switch Online. Although the selection is limited, we are fortunate that Mario Kart World is leading the launch.

Although the initial launch features only three GameCube titles, Nintendo has assured us that additional games will be released shortly, including Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, and Luigi’s Mansion.

- A new theme song, “Edge of Triumph” by Yoko Shimomura (composer of Street Fighter II)
- Hitman World of Assassination – Signature Edition
- Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition
Upcoming Post-Launch Titles (Confirmed)
The following games are confirmed for release shortly after launch:
- Donkey Kong Bananza – July 17
- Super Mario Party Jamboree – July 24
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A – October 16
Rumored or Leaked Titles
Here are games heavily rumored — but not yet confirmed — to launch within the Switch 2’s release window:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Donkey Kong: Kingdom Kollision – A 3D action-platformer reportedly in development by EPD Tokyo. Jungle and city biomes are said to mix in a wild new direction.
- Pikmin 5 – A job listing from Nintendo teased work on an “AI-based strategy game” for new hardware.
- Xenoblade Chronicles 4 – A trademark for the name leaked in Japan in early 2025, pointing to a potential reveal.
While we’re still waiting on confirmations, these titles line up with Nintendo’s typical first-year playbook.
