The Arkham trilogy was never meant to close the book on the Batman saga. Behind the scenes, a sequel starring Damian Wayne as the new Dark Knight was in early development before ultimately being canceled. Over the years, glimpses of this scrapped project, like character face models and concept art, have trickled online. But now, the biggest reveal yet has emerged: a leaked gameplay clip from a developer build.
Shared by YouTuber The Atomsmith, the footage shows Damian Wayne’s Batman leaping over a placeholder Killer Croc using the Batcycle. The Croc model appears to be a stand-in for another enemy, indicating the clip is from a very early build. Damian himself is also seen in a reused Batman suit from Arkham Knight, reinforcing that the design phase was still far from complete.
With the footage dating back to the pre-alpha stage, it’s difficult to draw firm conclusions about the narrative direction, but one thing’s clear: we were closer to a Damian Wayne-led Arkham game than most fans realized.
