Heads up, heroes! Just one week after the last patch tweaked the surrender system, NetEase is dropping another one. The Marvel Rivals July 3 update is officially on the way, and we’ve got the full patch notes detailing what’s in store. While it’s a smaller update, it packs a punch with some sick new skins and much-needed bug fixes.
The previous patch on June 26 already made a quality-of-life improvement by adjusting surrender votes and dropped new skins for The Punisher and Thor. Now, let’s dive into what the Version 20250703 patch, going live on July 3 at 2 am PT, brings to the game.
What’s New in the Marvel Rivals July 3 Update?
The main event for this patch is undoubtedly the fresh cosmetics hitting the store. Two fan-favorite heroes are getting some incredible new looks, which will be available for purchase starting July 3 at 7 pm PT.

First up, Captain America is getting a venomized makeover with the Captain Klyntar skin. This awesome design is pulled straight from the panels of 2017’s Edge of Venomverse #1, giving Steve Rogers a seriously intimidating symbiotic suit.
Not to be outdone, Spider-Man is swinging in with his iconic white Future Foundation suit. This clean, minimalist look comes from Spidey’s time with the famous super-team led by Reed Richards. As with previous releases, both of these skins will come in bundles that include a matching MVP animation, emote, nameplate, and spray.
Crucial Hero Bug Fixes in the July 3 Patch
Beyond the new threads, the Marvel Rivals July 3 update is also squashing some pesky bugs that have been messing with a few heroes on the roster.

- Thor’s Thunder Troubles: A high latency issue was causing Thor’s Thorforce to act up, sometimes canceling his abilities mid-animation. The patch notes humorously state it left the God of Thunder “feeling less than worthy.” Thankfully, this has been resolved, so Mjolnir’s power will no longer get lost in the clouds.
- Illusory Interference: A bug was causing illusions from Magneto’s Magnetic Resonance and Psylocke’s Psychic Echoes to incorrectly trigger on-kill effects (like Loki’s Laufeyson Reborn). This has been fixed, so now only defeating actual heroes will grant you those powerful bonuses.
The update also addresses a minor UI issue where players returning from a “Career” page via the Leaderboard were getting sent back to the Leaderboard homepage.
Gearing Up for Season 3 on July 11
While this Marvel Rivals July 3 update is a solid patch, it’s clear the team is gearing up for an even bigger content drop. Mark your calendars, because Season 3 is confirmed to kick off on July 11.

As previous rumors suggested, the new season will introduce Blade and Jean Grey/Phoenix as new playable characters. We’re also expecting a wave of five new character skins, including the highly anticipated venomized “Jeff the Landshark” outfit. With the upcoming season confirmed to revolve around Knull and the planet of the symbiotes, it’s a safe bet we’ll see a new Klyntar map added to the rotation.
For now, get ready to grab those new skins and enjoy a smoother experience when the patch goes live!
